Refunds & Payments

Effective date: October 14, 2026

This Payments, Fees, Refunds, and Payouts Policy (the "Policy") explains how payments, fees, refunds, and payouts work on the CallPayWall product and service ("CallPayWall"), operated by Paywall Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). It applies to callers who pay to reach a CallPayWall user ("Callers"), to account owners who use CallPayWall to handle their calls and to receive payouts ("Account Owners"), and to anyone who purchases a phone-number rental package. This Policy is incorporated into the CallPayWall Terms of Service, the Caller Terms, and the Privacy Policy.

1. Payment Processing

1.1 Card payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We also support Apple Pay where available. Payouts to Account Owners are made through Stripe Connect. By making or receiving payments through CallPayWall, you agree to the applicable terms of our payment processors.

1.2 The Company does not store full payment card numbers. Card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processors. We may store limited, non-sensitive information (such as the last four digits of a card, card brand, expiration, and processor tokens) to operate the Service, support recurring billing, and resolve disputes.

1.3 You authorize the Company and its payment processors to charge your selected payment method for the amounts described in this Policy and at checkout, including access fees, subscription and rental charges, applicable overages, and taxes.

2. Caller Access Fees

2.1 Account Owners set the fee that certain Callers (for example, commercial or sales callers) must pay to reach the Account Owner or to use a paid feature such as leaving a message, scheduling a call, or sending an email pitch. The fee amount, and which Callers it applies to, are determined by the Account Owner, not the Company.

2.2 The applicable fee and the feature being purchased are disclosed to the Caller before the charge is made. By proceeding, the Caller authorizes the charge.

2.3 Payment buys access or a feature, not an outcome. An access fee entitles the Caller only to the specific access or feature purchased. It does not guarantee that the Account Owner will answer, accept the call, return the call, respond, or transact. See the Caller Terms for details.

3. How and When Charges Occur; Authorizations and Holds

3.1 Depending on the feature and flow, we may: (a) place a temporary authorization or hold on the Caller's payment method when a call begins or a feature is requested, and capture the charge only when the relevant condition is met (for example, when the call is connected); or (b) charge the payment method at the time of purchase.

3.2 Authorizations that are not captured are released in accordance with the processor's and the card issuer's timelines, which are outside our control. A pending authorization may temporarily reduce your available balance even if it is later released.

3.3 The specific charging behavior for a given feature is disclosed at or before the point of purchase.

4. Refunds for Callers

4.1 Calls not connected / Account Owner does not answer. CallPayWall is designed so that, in general, a Caller is charged for connection-based access only when the intended access is actually provided. At a high level:

  • If a paid call is not connected because the Account Owner does not answer, is unavailable, or the connection otherwise fails, the system is designed to automatically refund or not capture the access fee, or to apply a partial hold and refund of the balance, depending on the feature and what was actually delivered.
  • Where a Caller has paid for and received an alternative feature (for example, leaving a voicemail or scheduling a call) instead of a live connection, a partial amount corresponding to the delivered feature may be retained and the remainder refunded.

4.2 The exact refund and partial-hold behavior depends on the feature purchased and the outcome of the call. These behaviors may be automated and are subject to change as the Service evolves. The amounts and conditions applicable to a particular purchase are disclosed at or before checkout where practicable.

4.3 Requesting a refund. If you believe you were charged in error, were charged for access you did not receive, or are otherwise entitled to a refund, contact us at support@callpaywall.com (support@callpaywall.com) with your transaction details. We review refund requests in good faith. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the payment processor and card issuer.

4.4 Chargebacks. If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us may delay resolution. We reserve the right to contest chargebacks we believe are invalid, to provide transaction records and call data to the processor and card networks, and to suspend or restrict accounts associated with abusive or fraudulent disputes. Amounts subject to a chargeback may be deducted from related balances or payouts.

5. Phone-Number Rental Packages

5.1 The Company offers phone-number rental packages so Account Owners can obtain a dedicated number for use with CallPayWall:

  • Local number: US$3.95 per month.
  • Toll-free number: US$4.95 per month.

5.2 Billing. Rental packages are billed monthly in advance on a recurring basis to the payment method on file, beginning on the date of activation, until canceled. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges.

5.3 Included usage and overage. A rental package may include a defined allotment of usage (such as included minutes or messages) as described at the point of purchase. Usage beyond any included allotment ("overage") is billed at the rates disclosed at purchase or in your account, in addition to the monthly fee. Telephony usage charges are based on actual use and may vary.

5.4 Cancellation. You may cancel a rental package at any time through your account or by contacting support@callpaywall.com (support@callpaywall.com). Cancellation stops future monthly charges. Charges already incurred are non-refundable, and fees are not prorated, unless expressly stated otherwise or required by law. Upon cancellation or non-payment, the rented number may be released and may become unavailable for reassignment to you; we are not responsible for the loss of a released number.

5.5 Number availability and portability. Number availability is subject to carrier and regulatory constraints. Porting numbers in or out, where supported, may be subject to additional requirements, fees, and timelines.

6. Taxes

6.1 Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for all applicable sales, use, value-added, goods-and-services, telecommunications, and similar taxes, levies, and surcharges associated with your purchases, other than taxes based on the Company's net income. Where required, we may collect and remit such taxes and surcharges and add them to your charges.

6.2 Account Owners are responsible for their own tax obligations relating to amounts they earn through the Service, including reporting and remitting taxes on payouts as required by law.

7. Account Owner Payouts (Stripe Connect)

7.1 Account Owners receive payouts of amounts owed to them (for example, fees paid by Callers to reach them), net of the Company's applicable fees and commissions and any pass-through charges, through Stripe Connect.

7.2 KYC and onboarding. To receive payouts, an Account Owner must create and maintain a Stripe Connect connected account and complete Stripe's identity verification and "know your customer" (KYC) requirements, including providing accurate identity, business, banking, and tax information. Payouts are gated on successful KYC and cannot be released until verification is complete and the connected account is in good standing.

7.3 Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Payouts and connected accounts are also governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and other Stripe terms, which apply directly between the Account Owner and Stripe in addition to this Policy. By enabling payouts, the Account Owner agrees to those terms.

7.4 Payout schedule and minimums. Payouts are made on the schedule we and/or Stripe establish (for example, on a rolling or periodic basis), subject to a minimum payout threshold and to clearance of the underlying transactions. Balances below the minimum threshold roll over until the threshold is met. Payout timing also depends on Stripe and the receiving bank.

7.5 Holds and reserves. We and/or Stripe may place holds, reserves, or delays on payouts to manage risk, including for pending disputes, chargebacks, refunds, suspected fraud, KYC issues, negative balances, or as required by law or the processor. Reserved or held amounts are released when the underlying risk is resolved.

7.6 Reversals and negative balances. If a transaction underlying a payout is later refunded, reversed, or charged back, the corresponding amount may be deducted from current or future payouts or recovered from the Account Owner. The Account Owner is responsible for negative balances and agrees to repay them.

7.7 Currency. Unless stated otherwise, fees are charged and payouts are calculated in U.S. dollars. Currency conversion, if any, is handled by the payment processor at its rates, and conversion or cross-border fees may apply.

8. Failed Payments

8.1 If a charge fails (for example, due to insufficient funds, an expired card, or a declined transaction), we may retry the charge, suspend or limit access to paid features, suspend or terminate a rental package, and/or release an associated phone number. You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file. We may pass through processor retry behavior and may charge any amounts owed to an updated payment method you provide.

9. Price Changes

9.1 We may change fees, rates, rental package prices, included allotments, overage rates, and the Company's commissions from time to time. For recurring charges such as rental packages, we will provide reasonable advance notice of material price increases (for example, by email to the address on file or through your account), and changes take effect on your next billing cycle after the notice period. Your continued use of the affected paid feature after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to a price change, your remedy is to cancel the affected feature before the change takes effect.

10. Disclaimers and Order of Precedence

10.1 The Company is not a bank and does not provide banking or money-transmission services. Payment, payout, and financial services are provided by our payment processors subject to their terms.

10.2 In the event of a conflict between this Policy and a specific written disclosure presented to you at the point of purchase regarding the same charge, the point-of-purchase disclosure controls for that charge.

11. Changes to This Policy

11.1 We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, except where advance notice is required under Section 9. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
